Man, 21, killed in Thanksgiving shooting at Minneapolis apartment
One person is dead after a Thanksgiving shooting in a north Minneapolis apartment.
According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers responded to the shooting on the 700 block of Emerson Avenue North just after 6 p.m. Thursday.
At the scene, officers found a 21-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he later died.
Preliminary information from MPD indicates the man was shot inside the apartment building and that the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
The shooting is currently under investigation, and no arrests have been reported.
“On a day that is supposed to be a celebration, another family has been impacted by a senseless act of violence,” MPD Chief Brian O’Hara said in a statement.
“My thoughts today are with the victim and his family. Our investigators are focused on seeking justice for the victim and are asking anyone who knows what happened or has any information about this incident to contact us immediately.”
