A man from Minneapolis has died and another man injured after a rock climbing fall at Interstate State Park in Taylors Falls.
The incident was reported shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Lower Landing area of the park, with deputies arriving to find two men, one of whom was unconscious and not breathing.
A 23-year-old man from Minneapolis was pronounced dead at the scene despite lifesaving efforts from responders.
The other victim, a 31-year-old man from Savage, was taken to St. Croix Falls Hospital in Wisconsin before being flown to Regions Hospital in St. Paul.
Neither of the victims have been identified at this stage, with their families still being informed.
"The apparent climbing accident is currently under investigation and no further information will be released at this time," the Chisago County Sheriff's Office said.
Interstate State Park is a popular spot for rock climbing, with the park home to cliffs overlooking the St. Croix River.
