Man, 25, killed after car goes airborne in western Wisconsin
A 25-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash in western Wisconsin in the early hours of Friday morning.
The crash happened at 12:13 a.m. on US Highway 63 in Erin Prairie, St. Croix County.
The St. Croix County Sheriff's Office says a vehicle driven Robert Heininger, 25, of New Richmond, went into a ditch, went airborne and then rolled multiple times.
Pictures shared by the sheriff's office show the car came to rest on its passenger side against a tree.
Heininger was pronounced dead at the scene by the St. Croix County Medical Examiner.
Police say that he was wearing a seatbelt, but that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
It's the 11th road death in St. Croix County this year.
