Man, 32, dies after being found unresponsive in YMCA hot tub

He was found at the YMCA in downtown Duluth.

A man has died after being found unresponsive in a hot tub at a Duluth YMCA.

The St. Louis County Sheriff says that 32-year-old Joseph Robbins was found in the hot tub in the pool area of the YMCA at 302 W. 1st Street on Wednesday morning.

A lifeguard came across Robbins, who was fully submerged in the hot tub, and quickly removed him from the water.

Gold Cross Ambulance and the Duluth Fire Department responded along with police, but efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

The exact cause of death at this stage is not known, but police say it's not suspicious.

Robbins was listed as being homeless by the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.
