A man has died after getting trapped in a corn bin west of the Twin Cities on Friday.

Emergency responders were called to farmland at 140th Street in Rich Valley Township, northwest of Norwood Young America, at 11:22 a.m.

There they found the man trapped in a corn bin. After a 30-minute search, the 64-year-old was found and removed from the bin, according to the McLeod County Sheriff's Office.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, with his identity not yet released by authorities.

Also responding to the scene was the Minnesota State Patrol, Glencoe Fire Department, Plato Fire Department, Allina Ambulance and Life Link Air Care.

The incident comes just over a week after a similar farming accident claimed the life of an 18-year-old in St. Peter.
