Man, 72, critical after possible robbery outside Minneapolis business

A man in his 70s is in a critical condition after being shot at least two times during a possible robbery in south Minneapolis.

The incident reported 7:30 a.m. Monday was reported on the 2900 block of Franklin Avenue east, with police arriving to find the 72-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.

"Preliminary investigation indicates that this occurred during a possible robbery attempt outside of a business," a press release from the Minneapolis Police Department says.

The suspect is described by police as a black man in his 20s, between 5'10" and 6-feet tall, with a slim build, wearing a mask, and a black sweat with a white square on the back, and a hood and grey pants.
