Authorities have arrested the man accused of kidnapping his 6-month-old baby after assaulting the boy's mother on Thursday.
Ben Tietz, 38, the non-custodial father of the baby boy, is accused of assaulting the child's mother in a vehicle in Interstate 35 in Chisago County, as well as in a gas station bathroom in Wyoming, Minnesota.
The 6-month-old was later found safe after being dropped off at a location in White Bear Lake. Tietz remained at large until Wyoming Police and the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office arrested him Friday.
Tietz was believed to have been armed with large knives and driving a 2002 silver Chevy Monte Carlo SS.
Authorities were in the process of issuing an Amber Alert, but the Chisago County Sheriff's Office announced late Thursday that the incident didn't meet Amber Alert requirements.
