A 45-year-old convicted sex offender has been charged with the sexual assault of a boy in Sauk Rapids.

Edward Krasky, of 7th Street, St. Cloud, is in custody at Benton County Jail following the reported assault in mid-August.

According to a criminal complaint, the boy told police Krasky had carried out the assault at a park in Sauk Rapids, and tried to push the boy into the Mississippi River when he told him to stop.

Krasky also allegedly told the boy he was going to kill him, and at one point hit him in the face.

According to the complaint, Krasky admitted he'd been at the park with the boy on the day of the assault, but denies the assault itself.

Krasky has previous convictions for sexually assaulting children, with the St. Cloud Times reporting he was sentenced in 2008 to serve 12 years and 7-and-a-half years in prison concurrently.
