Man arrested peacefully after standoff in Minnetonka

It led to the closure of Shady Oak Road for more than 12 hours.

Police say they have peacefully resolved a standoff that caused the closures of a section of road in Minnetonka for most of Friday.

Minnetonka PD were called to a home in the 3600 block of Shady Oak Road on a report of an assault at 4:15 a.m.

Per police, a man had "threatened others at his home, then barricaded himself inside."

The road was closed down between Minnetonka Boulevard and Minnetonka Mills Road until just after 5 p.m.

"Police negotiated peacefully with the suspect until they were able to arrest him without incident," Minnetonka PD said.

Nobody was injured in the incident, and there is not an ongoing threat to the public.

No further details are available.
