The woman found dead in her home in North St. Paul has been identified, and her son taken into custody on suspicion of killing her.
The North St. Paul Police Department confirmed Monday afternoon that 46-year-old Gabrielle Dearing, was found at the Cedarview Commons complex on Hwy. 36 just before 7 p.m. Friday.
Officers had been sent to the apartment by her sister-in-law, who hadn't been able to contact Dearing, and arrived to find an untouched meal at her apartment door.
They found her body inside, with Dearing having suffered "multiple wounds from a sharp instrument."
Her 25-year-old son was later taken into custody on the 600 blocks of Jenks Avenue, after police received a tip from a relative.
He is being held in jail on probable cause homicide.
