The registered sex offender accused of abducting a Fergus Falls woman from her home has been charged with kidnapping and sexual assault.

Anthony Dale Randklev, 39, of Pelican Rapids, is facing 8 felony charges following the abduction of 34-year-old mother-of-four in rural Fergus Falls on Sunday.

He allegedly marched her out of the house at gunpoint in front of her children, all of whom are under the age of 10, before driving off with her in his vehicle.

According to the criminal complaint, Randklev entered the house through a basement window while wearing a camouflage mask and hat. He found the children, asking them where their mother was.

In an interview with police, the victim says Randklev had come into her bedroom where she was lying down with her son, and told her to come with him or he would kill her family.

He dragged her outside through a sliding glass door, all while armed with what her children described as a "long gun or possibly a shotgun."

He left with her just before 2 p.m. on Sunday, heading into trees to the northwest of the home, where they jumped into a silver truck.

Police didn't catch up with him until a few hours later, and during the intervening period, the victim says Randklev brought her to an abandoned house where he sexually assaulted her while she was tied up.

While there, he "talked about how people in his life had wronged him and how he had to do this."

"He said how people had killed his son and he needed to keep his bloodline going," the complaint states.

Police caught up with Radnklev and gave chase at around 4:50 p.m.

He reached speeds of up to 90mph during the chase, throwing a shotgun out of the vehicle while his victim was sat in the passenger seat.

Police tried to stop the car by hitting its rear tire, which eventually disintegrated with Randklev continuing to drive on the rim.

He was eventually forced into a wheat field and tried to flee. Police opened fire, without hitting him, and were able to get him into custody.

Randklev has recently served prison time for kidnapping and assault, and is a registered sex offender.
