Just days after a woman was found bleeding to death on a street in Bemidji, a local man has been charged with killing her.

25-year-old Brian Keith Jourdain is accused of stabbing 35-year-old Krista Fisherman, of Redby, at least four times on Friday night, according to the criminal complaint. A leg wound proved to be fatal. Jourdain is charged with two counts of second-degree murder.

According to court documents, police tracked him down through surveillance video and texts and phone calls he made to his mother following the stabbing.

The complaint indicates that, during at least one phone call to his mother, Jourdain admitted he stabbed Fisherman because "she pissed me off." Officers later picked him up at a local McDonald's.

Each count of second-degree murders carries a possible penalty of 40 years in prison.

Jourdain is being held at the Beltrami County Jail on $1 million conditional bail. His next court appearance is Feb. 23, according to the county attorney's office.

It's not yet clear what, if any relationship Jourdain had to Fisherman.
