A driver who crashed into a power pole was found by police a short time later unconscious in a field, through which he'd been running.

Police were alerted to the incident when they saw a bright green flash in the sky near Milton just before 10 p.m. Friday.

As they were en route to check out the flash, a resident called to say they'd seen a vehicle crash and a person running through a field.

They arrived at the scene to find a vehicle that had crashed into a power pole at County Roads 14 and 65, with several live power lines strewn across County Road 14.

Deputies then saw a man running across a field south of the crash, heading towards Miltona, and found him a short time later unconscious near 2nd Street.

He has been taken to a hospital, where his condition is unknown.
