Man dead after shooting in north Minneapolis alley

Police are looking for suspects now.

Police in Minneapolis are asking for the public's help in finding a shooter who left a man dead in an alley on Saturday night.

The shooting happened at around 10:00 p.m. on the 3600 block of Penn Ave. N near Queen Ave. N, a news release from the police department says:

Police say a ShotSpotter report of "numerous shots fired" in the alley brought them to the scene, where they found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds. 

The officers provided medical attention until paramedics arrived to take over and bring the man to North Memorial Health Hospital. He died there are short time later.

Police canvassed the area but have yet to find a suspect, so they're asking anyone with information to make an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The victim has not yet been identified.
