Man dead after shooting in south Minneapolis

It happened on Thursday evening.

A man has died after a shooting in south Minneapolis on Thursday evening.

The shooting happened just before 9 p.m., with police sent to the 2200 block of 13th Avenue South, in the Ventura Village neighborhood, on reports of shots fired.

When they got to the scene, officers were told the victim had been transported to Hennepin County Medical Center. He died there a short time later.

It is believed that the victim, a man in his mid-20s, was sitting in a car when a suspect approached on foot, firing several times into the car.

The victim has not yet been identified, with that detail coming at a later date from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office .
