Man dead, woman airlifted after ATV crash in Polk County
A rollover crash involving an ATV in northwest Minnesota wound up killing the driver and seriously injuring a passenger.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, 75-year-old Edward Halvorson and 71-year-old Judith Halvorson were on an ATV together when they entered a ditch near Fosston and rolled the vehicle.
The crash happened just after 7 a.m. Monday along 345th Avenue Southeast, south of 310th Street Southeast, near Fosston. The driver entered the ditch on the 2004 Arctic Cat 500 and the ATV overturned, the release said.
Mr. Halvorson died at the scene. Mrs. Halvorson was transported to a hospital in Fosston and later airlifted to a Fargo hospital.
An investigation is ongoing.
