An officer-involved shooting left a man and a deputy injured Saturday night in Becker County.
According to a press release from the Becker County Sheriff’s Officer, the department was responding to a man threatening to injure himself and facing a potential drug overdose at a home on County Highway 29 at around 10 p.m.
When the man refused to leave this home for 45 minutes, officers entered and used a Taser and firearm, injuring him.
The man was transported to Essentia Hospital in Detroit Lakes, before being airlifted to Fargo for further treatment.
A deputy also sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident, and has since been released from the hospital.
Frazee and Detroit Lakes police departments were also on the scene, along with the Minnesota State Patrol.
The sheriff's office has asked the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to investigate the incident.
