A man who was badly burned in a house explosion south of the Twin Cities more than two weeks ago has died.

According to an online obituary, Brian Suilmann, 57, of Hampton, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Suilmann and his wife were the only two people inside a home when it exploded early in the morning of Feb. 5, according to the Dakota County Sheriff's Office.

The explosion happened around 6:15 a.m. at 24705 Lewiston Boulevard. Deputies and firefighters arrived and found Suilmann, who was badly burned, looking for his wife.

He was transported to the Regions Hospital Burn Center for treatment, and just before 9 o'clock that morning a woman's body was found in the blast debris.

The cause of the explosion remains under investigation, but authorities suspect it was a propane-fueled blast.
