A shooting in Minneapolis earlier this month is now being treated as a homicide as the victim died from his injuries on Sunday.

The man, in his 30s, was shot in the 900 block of Hawthorne Avenue in downtown Minneapolis at 7:28 p.m. on Sept. 7.

Minneapolis PD confirmed on Monday that the victim died on Sunday from his injuries, having been found in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been made so far in the case, with police saying they canvassed the area and spoke with witnesses shortly after the shooting occurred.

It's been a dangerous few months in the western part of downtown Minneapolis, with the Sept. 7 shooting happening near the Hawthorne Municipal Parking ramp.

A 21-year-old man was shot dead just a short distance away this weekend at 8th and Hennepin, while a woman was stabbed to death in the street in the same area this past May.
