Man dies after 911 call related to attempted break-in at Minneapolis home

Police found a man on the porch of the home. He wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse.

A man apparently died after residents called 911 for an attempted break-in early Monday morning.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, police at 1:18 a.m. responded to a 911 call from a home on the 1500 block of 11th Avenue North.

The people inside the home said someone was attempting to break into the house.

When police arrived, they found a man on the porch. He wasn't breathing and didn't have a pulse. He was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.

Homicide investigators and the crime lab responded to the scene.

No details on how the man may have died have been revealed by police, but the PD does say the residents are fully cooperating.

The medical examiner's office will release the man's identity and details on how he died in the coming days.
