Man dies after being found with critical injuries in St. Paul

It's unclear what caused the man's injuries.

Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in St. Paul on Thursday.

A press release from the St. Paul Police Department says dispatch received a call at 2:20 p.m. with the caller reporting a man was suffering from injuries on the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue East. 

Officers arrived to find an adult male with critical injuries near the intersection of Maryland and Prosperity avenues – which is outside the offices of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. 

Paramedics were rushed to the scene and the man was taken to Regions Hospital where life-saving efforts were unsuccessful. He died about 90 minutes after officers found him. 

It's unclear how the man was injured. 

St. Paul Police Department's homicide investigators are on the case and attempting to find out what led to the man's injuries. 

The victim's identity will remain undisclosed until further review by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
