A man is dead following a possible drowning on a central Minnesota lake Tuesday afternoon, according to Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch.

Burch reports that the incident was reported around 3:25 p.m. on Louise Lake in Wabedo Township, which is south of Longville or about 45 miles north of Brainerd.

Deputies and paramedics arrived at the scene and found a man in the water near a fishing boat. The man, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of his family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office is conducting an autopsy and an investigation into the man's death is being assisted by the Minnesota DNR.

It's the second suspected drowning death in Cass County in as many days. On Monday, a woman was found unresponsive at a resort on Leech Lake and pronounced dead at the scene.
