Man dies after being shot before flipping his car in Minneapolis

The incident happened in north Minneapolis on Wednesday evening.

A man is dead after being shot in his car in Minneapolis and then crashing shortly after.

The incident unfolded at 48th Street and Camden Avenue North at 10:20 p.m., when a car crash was reported to police.

They arrived to find the man lying unconscious on the side of the road, and he was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to North Memorial Hospital.

Further investigation found that the man was sitting in a car alone when someone approached and shot into the car, hitting him.

The man then accelerated southbound on Camden Avenue and struck an empty car parked on the west side of the road.

His vehicle flipped onto its roof, with the victim able to crawl out and get to the side of the road before falling unconscious.

The incident is being investigated by the Minneapolis police homicide division, with the victim's identity to be released at a later stage by the Medical Examiner's Office.
