The Minnesota State Patrol crash report says 60-year-old Martin D. Plaisted was driving a 2007 Can-Am Outlander ATV south in the east ditch of Hwy. 65 near County Road 8 when he hit an "elevated part" of the ditch and crashed just after 4 p.m.

Plaisted became trapped underneath the ATV, which was submerged in water, the State Patrol said. He died at the scene.
