A man has died after what police are describing as an apparent hit-and-run in North Minneapolis Friday evening.
The incident at 10:24 p.m. happened on the 2500 block of West Broadway, with officers arriving to find a man in his 20s laying in the road.
Further down the road, a damaged vehicle was stopped and had been abandoned.
The victim was taken to North Memorial Hospital by ambulance, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
According to police, the victim was in the westbound lane of West Broadway when he was struck by a silver Ford Taurus that was speeding.
"The occupants of the striking vehicle fled on foot after the crash," police said.
No arrests have been made.
