A man has died in Eden Prairie after an apparent home invasion on Saturday night.

The incident happened in the property at Jennifer Court, which was broken into by two suspects just after 10:40 p.m.

A woman inside the property told police that the suspects had fled with cash, and a man in the home required medical attention.

He was given CPR when responders arrived, but was eventually pronounced dead at the scene.

"It was not immediately clear to first responders at the scene what may have caused the man’s medical condition," the Eden Prairie Police Department says.

The home invasion appears to have been a targeted incident, police say, and there's not believed to be any danger to the wider public.

The victim will be identified at a later stage, along with his cause of death.
