Man dies after 'possible domestic related' stabbing, woman arrested

Minneapolis police were called Friday evening.

A man has died and a woman has been arrested after a stabbing that police believe is domestic-related.

The incident was reported at 9:46 p.m. Friday on the 2600 block of Bloomington Avenue South, with officers arriving to find a man in the road suffering from grave injuries.

The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigation at the scene led police to a nearby apartment, where they took a woman into custody.

"It appears that this incident is domestic related," police spokesman John Elder said.

The victim will be identified at a later date by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

According to Violence Free Minnesota, a coalition of groups working to end relationship abuse, there have been 14 confirmed victims of intimate partner homicide in Minnesota this year.
