A man has died in a Twin Cities hospital after a shooting in north Minneapolis on Saturday evening.
An off-duty officer went to the scene after hearing a shot fired at around 8:20 p.m. on the 2000 block of Aldrich Avenue North.
While en route, police received a 911 call saying that someone had been shot.
When they got there, they found that a man in his 20s had been taken to North Memorial Hospital via a private vehicle after a shooting on the street.
Minneapolis PD said that injuries were "grave." It was confirmed that he had died on Sunday morning.
"The homicide detectives continue to work on this open and active case," MPD spokesman John Elder said. "No one is in custody at this time."
