The man who was shot at a Minneapolis nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning has died from his injuries.

The Minneapolis Police Department confirmed on Sunday evening that the man in his 20s who was shot at Rouge at the Lounge just after 2 a.m. died later at Hennepin County Medical Center.

He was one of two men shot in the club on the 411 N. 2nd Ave., with a police spokesman saying officers arrived to find a "chaotic scene" at the club.

Officers had managed to restore a heart beat in the victim before transporting him to HCMC, but his injuries would ultimately prove too severe.

Another man in his 20s arrived at HCMC a short time later with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Police say it is believed to be from the same incident.

At this stage, no suspects are in custody. The victim has not yet been identified.
