Man dies after shooting that closed I-94 eastbound in Minneapolis
A man in his 30s died after a shooting that led to the closure of I-94 eastbound on Sunday evening.
Minneapolis Police Department said that it's investigating a homicide that started on Dowling Avenue, and ended with the victim in a vehicle on the interstate.
Officers arrived to find the victim, a man in his 30s, with no breathing or pulse.
CPR was conducted on the scene and he was taken to North Memorial Medical Center where he died a short time later.
Investigators say that two men were outside of their cars on Dowling when one shot the other. They then got into separate cars and fled the area, with the victim entering I-94 from the Dowling ramp and crashing into the meter lights, and coming to a stop along the median.
It sparked the closure of I-94 east, causing huge tailbacks that continued for several hours.
No arrest has been made. This is Minneapolis' 61st homicide of the year.
