Man dies after skid loader accident in Champlin

The 43-year-old was pinned by the construction equipment.

A man was killed in Champlin after a freak accident involving a Bobcat skid loader.

The incident was reported to Champlin PD around 12:45 a.m. Sunday, with police told of an overturned Bobcat behind 11200 Aquila Avenue North, which is a Dairy Queen Grill & Chill.

The caller told officers her brother had been working in that area clearing brush on Saturday afternoon.

When they arrived, they found the skid loader had tipped forward down an incline, pinning the driver inside.

The victim, a 43-year-old man from Prior Lake, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the operator," Champlin Police Department said.
