A man assaulted at a bar in central Minnesota died days later, police say.
Steven Hlinsky, 46, of rural Alexandria, was found unresponsive and not breathing at his home on Sunday, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tributes on Facebook identify Hlinsky, known locally as Beaver, as a long-serving member of the volunteer Forada Fire Department, as well as being a father of two.
He had just been released from St. Cloud Hospital on Friday, six days after being assaulted at the Muddy Boot Bar and Grill in Forada, which is about 8 miles south of Alexandria.
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Hlinsky had been found on the sidewalk bleeding from the nose and ear in the early hours of Saturday, May 5, and had to be airlifted to hospital.
It's not clear yet whether his death is related to the injuries he sustained in the fight, with police awaiting the results from the medical examiner's office.
