Police have launched an investigation into the death of a man who suffered a medical event after police found him in a Maple Grove house Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported at 4:50 a.m., when Maple Grove police officers responding to a 911 call went into the house in the 14000 block of 92nd Avenue North.

Inside they found a male who didn't live at the property, who went unresponsive having suffered an "apparent medical event" shortly after police arrived.

Officers called for an ambulance, but he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Maple Grove PD has asked the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office to investigate the man's death, which KARE 11 reports prompted at least 12 squad cars and the Hennepin County Mobile Crime Lab to be sent to the scene this morning.

The man is expected to be identified by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's office in the coming days.

There's been no information released pertaining to why the man was in the home.
