A man died hours after being shot in Minneapolis Sunday night. 

The Minneapolis Police Department says officers responded to multiple 911 calls and a ShotSpotter activation in the area of the 1700 block of Emerson Avenue North, where they found a man who had been shot around 11:55 p.m. 

The man, believed to be in his 20s, was in grave condition, suffering from gunshot wounds. 

Officers performed CPR and got his pulse back. He was then brought to the hospital. On Monday, the department was notified that the man had died. 

Police said the suspect(s) in this case fled before officers arrived, and no one is in custody. 

The victim has not been identified. The medical examiner will release his name and cause of death.
