A man was shot dead in north Minneapolis Sunday afternoon.
The killing, the 46th homicide in Minneapolis this year, was reported at 3:51 p.m., with police arriving at 26th Avenue North and Logan Avenue North to find the victim laying outdoors with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center by ambulance, where he died a short time later.
No arrests have been made at this time, with police saying the suspect fled the area prior to officers arriving.
"Preliminary investigation indicates that an incident occurred between individuals familiar with one another," said MPD spokesman John Elder. "Gunfire resulted as the interaction progressed."
