An 88-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 35 in eastern Minnesota Thursday night.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just after 7:45 p.m. when a man driving a 2004 Dodge Dakota southbound on I-35 lost control near Hwy. 23 in Finlayson Township. The vehicle rolled into the median and landed on its roof.

The driver, identified as Junior Milton Krippner, 88, of Cromwell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Roads were slick from snow and ice at the time of the crash, the State Patrol says.
