Approximately six hours after a man was fatally shot near 46th St. and Hiawatha Ave. in Minneapolis, a second homicide case is being investigated after a separate shooting left another victim dead near the Minneapolis-Richfield border.

According to Minneapolis PD, 911 callers reported a shooting at 6:22 a.m. in the area of the 100 block E. 59th St., which is near a Cub Foods and a car wash in the Windom neighborhood of southwest Minneapolis.

Responding officers found a man who was "obviously deceased," a news release said. "It appeared he had suffered gunshot wounds."

Police spoke to people in the area who may have heard or witnessed the incident, and the MPD Crime Lab processed the scene while homicide detectives began an investigation.

No arrests have been made and the victim's identity has not been released.
