A resident at the Northeast Regional Corrections Center, serving time for theft and assault, escaped earlier this week – but was arrested Saturday.

The Mesabi Daily News reported Lance William Olson had last been seen at the facility in Saginaw around 5 p.m. Tuesday

The Duluth News Tribune says authorities believe he was picked up by someone in a white truck.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office alerted the public and asked anyone with information to call authorities.

Olson was arrested Saturday in the Lincoln park area of Duluth, Police Chief Gordon Ramsay and the Duluth Police Department noted on Facebook.

According to a court records search, Olson has been convicted of misdemeanor assault and theft charges in the past 18 months. There are previous convictions for drug possession, terroristic threats and fleeing an officer.

The Northeast Regional Corrections Center is described as "minimum" security, according to the resident handbook. It's a workhouse, where some offenders can go in lieu of jail, the Duluth News Tribune explained in a recent article about $8 million renovations to the facility.

It's 3,200 acres and offers training – in things such as farming, mechanics and meat cutting – for residents to help shift back into society later, the paper wrote. It has one of the lowest recidivism rates in the state.

Last summer, three men escaped from the center, KBJR 6 reported – all were eventually caught.
