Police say a man was killed in a shooting in south Minneapolis Monday afternoon, with the suspect later turning himself in.
The incident was reported on the 900 block of 24th Street East in the Ventura Village neighborhood at 3:17 p.m., with officers arriving to find a man in his 20s dead outside near the Village Market.
Police say that a "physical altercation" broke out in a nearby shopping mall that then "spilled outside," with one of those involved then pulling a gun and shooting the other.
About 90 minutes after the shooting was reported, the suspect called police to turn himself in, with officers later taking him into custody. Minneapolis Police Department says they also recovered a handgun.
It is the 14th homicide in Minneapolis so far this year.
