Man found buried on Otter Tail County property was shot dead

A suspect has been arrested in connection with his death.

Authorities have identified the body found on a property near Pelican Rapids in Otter Tail County on Saturday morning.

The Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office says the body of Dylan Butler, 28, was found buried at the property on Holbrook Road, 9 miles north of Pelican Rapids.

It appears as though he died from gunshot wounds, though an autopsy will confirm this on Monday.

Butler had been staying at the home with the man suspected of killing him, a 25-year-old man who has been arrested on suspicion of homicide.

The suspect had previously lived in Colorado and Oklahoma before moving to the property on Holbrook Road, with Butler moving in with him this past May.

Prior to the body being found on Saturday, the suspect reported to Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office at around 3 p.m. on Friday that an "incident" had resulted in someone's death.

Further details on what led to Butler's killing have not yet been released.
