Man found dead in car in Minneapolis, police say he shot himself
A man found dead in a vehicle in Minneapolis Saturday morning had a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police say.
Police received a report of a man in a vehicle on the 800 block of Summit Avenue shortly after 5 a.m., with the caller saying he appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.
When officers arrived, they found the man had suffered a gunshot wound to the head, with a gun recovered at the scene.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Preliminary review of the evidence on the scene is that this gunshot wound was self-inflicted," a release from Minneapolis Police Department spokesman John Elder said.
The victim's identity will be released at a later date by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.
