Police investigate after man found dead outside his Eagle Lake home

Police in southern Minnesota are investigating after a man was found dead outside his home Saturday morning. 

Officers were called to reports of an unresponsive man on the front steps of a house in the 100 block of South 3rd Street in Eagle Lake at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

When first responders got there, they found that the man in question had died.

He has been identified as 64-year-old Richard Sieberg, whose cause of death is now under investigation.

His body has been sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for autopsy. A death investigation, meanwhile, has been launched by Eagle Lake Police Department.

Eagle Lake is a city of around 3,000 people located a few miles east of Mankato in Blue Earth County.
