Man found dead outside home near Cass Lake

Police are investigating after a man was found dead shortly after a caller said he had been shot outside a home in Cass County, Minnesota.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office says the man was found outside the residence in the 15000 block of Roosevelt Rd SE in Ten Lakes Township, rural Cass Lake, Tuesday evening.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nobody is in custody at this time, with the incident under investigation by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Leech Lake Tribal Police Department, Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The victim has been transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy, and will be identified at a later date.
