UPDATE: Father dies after shooting, rollover crash that also injured his son

UPDATE: The man involved in a shooting and rollover crash in St. Paul on Sunday evening has died at Regions Hospital.

St. Paul PD says the 23-year-old man, who was gravely injured after being shot in the head on Wabasha Street, died overnight.

He was in an SUV with a 4-year-old boy who was shot in the foot. Police have confirmed that the boy is the deceased's son.

It marks the 23rd homicide of 2019 in St. Paul, with police not having made any arrests at this stage.

A man and a 4-year-old boy have been injured after both were shot and the SUV they were in rolled in St. Paul Sunday evening.

St. Paul police arrived at the 400 block of Wabasha Street South at 5:15 p.m. to find an overturned SUV with a man and boy inside, with police having initially been called when nearby residents reported gunshots.

The man had been shot in the head and unconscious, but still breathing. He is in a grave condition at Regions Hospital.

The boy, aged 4, had been shot in the foot, and was conscious when police arrived. He too has been taken to Regions Hospital.

The SUV was found on its roof on the west side of Wabasha Street. At this stage it's unclear how the vehicle came to roll over.

No suspects have been arrested in connection with the shootings. Anyone with information should call police on 651-266-5650.

It's the latest incidence of violence in St. Paul, which saw eight confirmed homicides in September alone.

Police say there have been 124 victims of gun violence in St. Paul this year.
