Man killed, 4-year-old girl injured in northern Minnesota crash
A man was killed and a 4-year-old girl injured when the SUV they were in was struck by a pickup truck that failed to stop at an intersection.
The incident happened just before 11 a.m. Sunday on County Road 8, south of Federal Dam in Cass County.
A Chevy Trailblazer driven by a 62-year-old man from Squaw Lake was pulling a passenger car on a car dolly along County Road 63 failed to stop at a "Stop" sign at County Road 8.
It then collided with a southbound 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, the driver of which, a 58-year-old man from Federal Dam, was ejected from the vehicle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, with a 4-year-old girl, also from Federal Dam, treated at the scene and airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital with serious injuries.
The Chevy driver was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital in Deer River.
The accident remains under investigation, with the victim not yet identified as family members are still being notified.
