A man was killed when a tree fell on top of him in central Minnesota over the weekend.

Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl says dispatchers received a call just before 1:30 p.m. Saturday on a report of a tree injuring a man at a property off Kimble Shores Drive in Ideal Township, which is about nine miles from Breezy Point and Pequot Lakes.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man had died from his injuries. His identity is being withheld pending notification of his family members.

It's not clear what caused the tree to fall.

Ideal Township is located about 30 miles north of Brainerd.
