Man killed in snowmobile rollover crash in Becker County

Another man was injured in a separate crash in St. Louis County.

A man is dead following a snowmobile crash in northern Minnesota. 

The snowmobiler, a 50-year-old man who has yet to be identified, died after rolling his snowmobile on Wildneress Bay Road around 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The crash happened in far northeastern Becker County, according to the Becker County Sheriff's Office. 

The man riding the snowmobile was pronounced dead at the scene. He will be identified once all family members have been notified. 

The crash remains under investigation. 

Snowmobilers collide in northern Minnesota

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to a crash involving two snowmobiles at 1:50 p.m. Saturday on Voyageur Snowmobile Trail, approximately 13 miles north of Crane Lake. 

A man riding a Ski-Doo Grand Tour snowmobile was southbound on the trail and collided with a northbound snowmobiler riding a Polaris 600. They collided near a curve on the trail. 

The 58-year-old on the Ski-Doo was transported to Cook Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the other snowmobiler, a 57-year-old from Hanover, was not injured.
