The driver of a vehicle that was reported stolen was killed in an accident after he lost control of the vehicle during a police chase in western Minnesota.

The Associated Press reports that 24-year-old Brandon Boswell of Detroit Lakes, died at the scene of the accident. No one else was in the car.

The car had been reported stolen in Fergus Falls. KFGO reports that Pelican Rapids Police tried to stop the car, and the driver then took off at speeds that topped 100 miles an hour.

Authorities in Ottertail County notified the Becker County Sheriff's Deputies that Pelican Rapids police had been chasing the vehicle around 12:30 a.m. Friday.

A Becker County deputy saw the vehicle and activated its lights and siren. Police say Boswell then lost control of the car and it rolled several times. He was ejected from the vehicle during the accident.
