A man attempting to evade authorities broke into a home and climbed onto the roof before being arrested after a nearly four-hour standoff with authorities Wednesday evening, reports note.

U.S. Marshals and officials from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office were pursuing a 37-year-old suspect, who has several felony warrants, when they spotted him in North Minneapolis, the Star Tribune reports.

In an effort to evade police, he rammed a Hennepin County Sheriff's Office vehicle, injuring a sheriff's deputy, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office tweeted.

The suspect then led officials on a foot chase, before breaking into the Fremont Avenue North home, barricaded himself in a room and climbed onto the roof, FOX 9 reports.

During the standoff, a large police presence responded to the area, blocking off some streets and rerouting Metro Transit buses, KARE 11 notes.

The man willingly climbed down from the roof around 9 p.m., KSTP says, and was arrested, the sheriff's office tweeted.

He was booked into the Hennepin County Jail around 9:52 p.m., according to the county jail roster. He is expected to appear in court on several felony bench warrant charges, among other potential charges, the roster notes.
