Man pulled from water in near drowning in Bde Maka Ska

The man's condition is unknown.

A man was rescued in a near drowning incident in Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis on Sunday afternoon. 

The incident unfolded just before 4 p.m. in the water off of Thomas Beach in Bde Maka Ska, formerly known as Lake Calhoun. The adult male was pulled from the water and taken to an area hospital in an unknown condition, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office. 

As of 9 p.m. Sunday, the sheriff's office said the near drowning was "non-fatal at this point in time." 

Thomas Beach is located on the south end of the lake.
